The Story of West Vancouver's First Physiotherapy Clinic
Hollyburn Physiotherapy in West Vancouver is celebrating over 50 years of excellence in physiotherapy practice.
We are very proud to be the very first private physiotherapy practice established on the North Shore. In the mid-1960’s Edith Downs and subsequently Rhett Barry established the practice in the original Hollyburn Medical Building at the corner of Marine Drive and 17th St in Ambleside.
In 1985, Ruth Byman and Dawn Siegel became second generation owners and Hollyburn Physiotherapy moved to its present location at 1549 Marine Drive in West Vancouver, behind the Savary Island Pie Company.
Ruth's retirement in 2001 heralded the third generation of ownership when Gail Pateman came on board to partner with Dawn for 21 years before Dawn's retirement in late 2022.
Hollyburn proudly enters its fourth generation of ownership, led by Gail Pateman and Francesca Ruddick as partners. The legacy continues with a team of 8 accomplished Registered Physiotherapists and a skilled Certified Hand Therapist (CHT). We have an expansive gym, a recently enhanced treatment zone, and a captivating outlook onto Stanley Park and the iconic Lion’s Gate Bridge.
You can count on the very best professional treatment and be assured that the tradition of excellence in physiotherapy continues 50 years later.
We look forward to welcoming you to our practice!
