Physical therapy can reduce the effects of TMD by using a variety of techniques including:education and ergonomic advice, jaw exercises, heat or ice therapy, manual therapy, movement of the TM joint to release scar tissue, retraining of proper jaw habits and postures and ultrasound or laser therapy.
