Activate your body’s natural painkillers and increase overall body health with Acupuncture!

Acupuncture is a branch of Chinese medicine that involves gently inserting needles into the skin at various, targeted sites to induce anesthesia. Acupuncture revolves around balancing chi (energy force). There are both traditional and modern views regarding the health benefits of Acupuncture. Traditional thinking establishes that by unblocking certain meridians throughout the body, blood flow is increased. Modern thinking maintains that by stimulating your body’s signalling system, the natural healing processes will be expedited.

Additional Information

Acupuncture treatment is completed in a number of steps. Initially, we will establish the areas that need to be targeted. Examining the condition of your face and tongue, feeling for tender points, listening to breathing, and understanding your complaints are all factors we consider in order to determine the most effective treatment. Hair-thin needles are then gently inserted at the targeted areas to induce energy flow. Each area of your body pertains to certain health complications and body functions.

How frequently should I get Acupuncture?

Acute conditions including back pain, sports injuries, or a common cold require multiple visits in a short time frame. For Chronic conditions, we recommend an average of two visits per week depending on the condition and its severity.

Who is Acupuncture for?

Acupuncture is for anyone who wants to improve how their body functions. Whether you’re trying to get rid of a pesky cold, recovering from a sports-related injury, or simply want to reduce your daily pain, acupuncture can help! Acupuncture is often used as an alternative when other treatment fails or as an accompaniment to other treatment.

Is Acupuncture safe?

Complications of acupuncture are extremely rare. We take extreme caution to ensure that you are comfortable.

What is IMS?

Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS) is a dry needling technique That involves the insertion of acupuncture needles into taut muscle bands. This causes a 3-fold effect on the muscles

  1. There is a reflex relaxation and lengthening of taut muscle
  2. There is improved healing of injured tissue
  3. There is restoration of normal nerve function.

It is not uncommon to experience some aching in the treated muscles for a few hours after your treatment. The application of dry or moist heat can help to ease any discomfort.

You should experience an improvement in mobility after your treatment.
